Licensing
NetClamp is commercial, closed-source software for Windows. There are no subscriptions, no recurring fees, and no expiration on activated credits — you pay once and keep using NetClamp.

What you get for free
The free tier covers 3 managed entities (rules + quotas combined) on one machine. That’s enough to install NetClamp, try it on one or two apps, and decide if it’s for you.
No time limit, no nag screens, no degraded features. Everything in the SPA works at the free tier — you just hit a cap when creating the 4th entity until you add credits.
Throttle-sibling rules synthesised automatically by quotas don’t count against the cap.

Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record — they collect VAT / sales tax on our behalf and issue your invoice.
Machine binding (HWID)
Each credit binds to one Windows machine the first time you activate it. NetClamp computes a one-way hash of stable hardware identifiers (your "HWID") and the activation token embeds that hash. The credit refuses to activate on a different machine — same credit can’t be in two places at once.
If you reinstall Windows on the same physical machine, the HWID is stable; your credit still activates. If you move to different hardware (motherboard swap, new laptop), the HWID changes — see Transferring credits below.
Transferring credits between machines
Two endpoints in the SPA:

Release on the source machine — strips the HWID binding and gives you back a portable "unbound" token. The credit row disappears on the source; its cap allowance drops by 10.

Rebind on the destination machine — paste the unbound token and the destination’s HWID gets attached. Cap goes up by 10 on the destination.
The handoff is a short string. You can copy/paste it between RDP sessions, scan a QR code, or email it to yourself — the unbound token has no value to anyone else, since it only works once and only against the next HWID you rebind to.
Offline activation
If the NetClamp host has no internet connection, activation works via your phone:

Open the Buy more credits modal — the SPA renders a QR code carrying the activation request including the host’s HWID.

Scan it with your phone, complete the Lemon Squeezy checkout on your phone.

The phone receives the activation token. Scan it back into the SPA’s Activate field.
The NetClamp host never touches the public internet. Activated credits run fully offline thereafter and never phone home.
Refunds
Lemon Squeezy honors a 14-day refund window on unused or recently purchased credits. Request a refund via the receipt email you got at purchase, or contact support@netclamp.app for help. Refunded credits are voided on our side within 24 hours; if you’d already activated a refunded credit, NetClamp drops it on the next heartbeat.
Continuity guarantee
Activated credits run permanently offline. The activation token on your machine is valid forever and never phones home to validate. If NetClamp Software ceases operations, every credit you have already activated keeps working on its bound machine for the lifetime of that installation.
Why not subscriptions
Most NetClamp users own enough credits within their first year, then never need to top up. Making them re-pay every 12 months would be hostile. The fixed-credit model also means the activated install keeps working on machines that are intentionally air-gapped, behind strict corporate networks, or simply offline — none of which is compatible with a subscription that phones home to renew.
Legal in brief

Ownership. NetClamp and all binaries, assets, and documentation remain the exclusive property of NetClamp Software; no title or intellectual-property rights transfer to you.

License grant. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to install and use NetClamp on machines you control, subject to the entity limits unlocked by your activated credits.

Restrictions. You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works from the software except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

No warranty. The software is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. NetClamp Software’s maximum aggregate liability is limited to amounts you paid in the preceding 12 months.

Merchant of Record. All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the Merchant of Record and is responsible for collecting and remitting applicable VAT / sales tax.
